First and foremost, it’s important to consider which kind of bleach you’re using.
Chlorine bleach works best on white laundry (it can affect color) and works wonders in terms of disinfecting and sanitizing.
Non-chlorine bleach, however, is safe for colors and may even be applied to upholstery. While it doesn’t clean quite as stringently as chlorinated bleach, it is less toxic and less likely to offend sensitive skin.
Once you’ve chosen the appropriate bleach, make sure you take the following steps:
Always pour a cup of water through the bleach dispenser before doing colors. You never know when a small quantity of bleach is hiding out waiting to damage your colored clothes.
Always use a bleach dispenser when one is available. This feature applies the bleach at the appropriate time.
Always use hot water and detergent when you’re adding Clorox Regular Bleach. This gives it a better chance at removing stains.
